Track Overview

Build the capability as a system, not as initiatives

Organizational data literacy is not a single initiative. It is a capability built as a system: shared understanding, intentional design, operational embedment, and measurable feedback loops. Most efforts fail because they treat literacy as training.

This track connects four journeys into one coherent experience. Start with Foundations, design the system, operationalize what you designed, then measure impact and course-correct. Measurement is not the end. It is the loop that improves everything upstream.

Recommended approach: Take the journeys in order. Each builds on the last. Joining mid-track? See role-based routes →

Fit & outcomes

Who this track is for, and what it delivers

Who this track is for

  • People who lead or sponsor data, analytics, or AI initiatives
  • Those who own data literacy, enablement, adoption, or transformation outcomes
  • Anyone who needs a coherent system rather than isolated training and tools
  • Leaders who want measurable decision improvement, not vanity metrics
  • Teams building long-term capability, not a one-time program

What this track delivers

  • Leader alignment on what organizational data literacy really is
  • An operating system that connects culture, behavior, and governance
  • Data use embedded into workflows and decision routines that scale
  • Measurement of behavior change and outcomes, credibly attributed
  • Repeatable course-correction loops to improve the system over time

What's in this track

A 15-minute orientation prepares the ground. Four journeys build the system in sequence. A capstone earns the credential. Mark each journey complete as you go.

Organizational Data Literacy: An Orientation

A 15-minute primer for leaders. Get clear on what organizational data literacy is — and what it isn't — before you start building it.

Strategic Foundations

Organizational Data Literacy Foundations

Build shared understanding of what organizational data literacy is and why most efforts fail before they start. Reset assumptions before you build solutions.

How the journeys build on each other

The orientation gets you ready. The four journeys build the system, each phase feeding the next. The capstone tests whether you can apply it.

Role-based starting points

If you already know your role and purpose, use a route below. You can always return to Foundations if alignment is missing.

Executives & sponsors

Start: Foundations  → Then: Measuring
Align on what "good" looks like and track progress without vanity metrics.

Program owners & PMO

Start: Foundations  → Then: Design → Operationalize → Measure
You own end-to-end execution and need the full system loop.

Enablement & L&D

Start: Foundations  → Then: Design → Operationalize
Your work must connect learning to workflows and reinforcement, not just delivery.

Analytics leaders

Start: Foundations  → Then: Design → Measure
Ensure the system drives adoption and ties analytics work to outcomes.
The loop

What measurement tells you to do next

Once you complete the loop, the signal from Measuring tells you which upstream journey to revisit. This is what makes the track a system, not a sequence.

If adoption is low: course-correct operational routines, reinforcement, and workflow design. Return to Operationalizing.
If behavior improves but outcomes do not: revisit your value anchor and decision selection. Return to Designing.
If different teams diverge: refine the operating model interfaces. Clarify what must be consistent versus local. Return to Designing.
If leaders aren't aligned: reset shared language and expectations. Return to Foundations.

Start with the orientation

Spend 15 minutes getting oriented to what organizational data literacy actually is, then move into Foundations and the rest of the track at your own pace.
